Medical cannabis laws are unique — your back pain may qualify for medical marijuana use in one state and not in another. Every state has their own unique set of laws which define what condition you must have before the state will write a prescription, or arrest you.
After searching through various state laws I found just one state that allowed diabetic patients to use medical cannabis legally, Florida.
African Americans are 1.7 times more likely to have diabetes as non-Hispanic whites.
State arrest records have long shown blacks are 3X more likely to be arrested for simple possession. Black Americans, as a percentage of population, consume marijuana at a proportional rate to white Americans.
The March 2006 American Journal of Pathology Study, conducted at the Medical College of Virginia, showed rats treated with cannabis (from 1-4 weeks) experienced protection from diabetic retinopathy (a condition characterized by retinal oxygen deprivation and a breakdown of the blood-retinal barrier, is the leading cause of blindness in working age adults).
A 5-milligram daily injection of cannabis significantly reduced the incidence of diabetes in mice. Marijuana use also delayed the onset of diabetes.
