Policy within policing is a trend towards some form of medical or legalization but with the force of regulation. Their next enemy? The home growers.

During a recent criminal case in Oakland County, Michigan, evidence showed that a caregiver (grower) was targeted for cultivating cannabis, and legally. The police used a drone to fly less than 100 feet from his residence and a building he processed the plants to get heat and light measurements. A search warrant for his electric bills was granted by a judge. His home grow operation led to the raids.

A legal grower gave his address to the State, that information was accessible to the police and exposed him to drone searches without judge approval.

The use of drones in a criminal investigation has doubled in the last year alone and it provides far better results than thermal heat camera guns from drive-by vans.

Home growers look up and consider the use of low heat (and far superior) LED lighting options.
