What could be more different than police officers and those that grow and sell marijuana to medical patients. Dispensaries are always at ‘war’ with law enforcement, and appear on the surface to be more different than same.
Police officers are an odd bunch, they are on scene after murders and fights. They see dead kids and write speeding tickets in the same day. When off duty, cops often are unable to shut down their constant assessment of the situation. Always looking out for the bad guy.
While cannabis providers are not often subject to death and mayhem, they do share a constant fear, but a fear for cops. Dispensary owners, growers and providers are forever looking over their shoulder as well and maintain an attitude that reassures everyone that everything is all right. The cops will not attack today.
How many of us drive in to work with the fear of arrest, police intimidation, gun shot, or federal interference. Cops and pot providers.
Just like law enforcement, those in the cannabis biz risk their freedoms in order to take care of our neighbors. A calling. That conviction grows stronger with every patient served, or life saved.
Maybe cops and providers can get together, drink a beer and share stories that their friends could never relate, and ultimately realize that this is all stupid.
